Enix Power Solutions has worked with Original Equipment Manufacturers for more than 30 years. Thanks to our experience and expertise, we are able to provide, design and build batteries for numerous robotics applications. An increasing number of robots are becoming battery operated and free from AC supply to ensure their autonomy, and/or integrate batteries in their back-up systems. The inability of robots to be constantly connected to a power supply makes the use of a reliable energy source critical for many applications.

We can provide batteries and custom battery packs for the robotics industry including Saft primary lithium cells, ideal for use in devices such as smart metering projects, Li-ion batteries, perfectly adapted to applications such as telecommunications satellites and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries for applications with less space available. A wide range of Lead-Acid, Lithium Polymer and Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries are also available to purchase.

AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) robots are developing rapidly within industrial sites.

In compliance with current standards (IEC 61508, ISO 13849, ISO 12100) we design batteries that comply with the IEC 62619 standard. This implies that we study all electrical and mechanical aspects in compliance with the safety described in this standard.

What is functional safety?

The IEC 61508 standard defines functional safety as the absence of unacceptable risk of injury or deterioration in the state of health of persons, arising directly or indirectly from damage to property or equipment.

Functional safety is a component of general security dependent on the proper functioning of a system or equipment in response to its inputs. Functional safety therefore means the detection of a potentially dangerous context, leading to the activation of a device protection or correction mechanism to prevent the occurrence of dangerous events or to mitigate the consequences of a dangerous event.

At Enix Power Solutions, we carry out a risk analysis which consists of identifying and characterising the dangers and risks associated with the battery environment. The minimum required in this sector is a PL (Performance Level) of “C”.

In the choice of BMS we offer many functions facilitating the operation of the AGV. We offer several types of communication modes such as CAN 2.0b. LiFePO4 or NCA/NMC, your application will determine the best compromise.
